NPD September 2012: Wreck It Ralph edition

Before I begin, lemme state this. Go see Wreck It Ralph in theatres while you still can. It's an enjoyable film for those who enjoy video games and the characters portrayed stays true to its 30+ year legacy.

With that out of the way, let's make this fast. First, Software:

At Number 10: Battlefield 3 by EA for the 360, PS3 and PC

At Number 09: Lego Batman 2: DC SuperHeroes by Warner Bros Interactive for the 360, Wii, PS3, PSVita, 3DS, and PC

At Number 08: NCAA Football by EA for the 360 and PS3

At Number 07: World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria by Activision/Blizzard for the PC

At Number 06:  NHL 13 by EA for the 360 and PS3

At Number 05: Guild Wars 2 by NCSoft for the PC

At Number 04: New Super Mario Bros 2 by Nintendo for the 3DS

At Number 03: FIFA Soccer 2013 by EA for the 360, PS3, PSVita, Wii, 3DS and PSP

At Number 02: Borderlands 2 by Take 2 Interactive for the 360, PS3 and PC

And at Number 01:

Madden NFL 2013 by EA for the 360, PS3, Wii and PSVita

First off, it seems Guild Wars 2 have outranked the new World of Warcraft expansion, though that isn't saying much since Digital Sales were not accounted.  Second, this month belongs to Electronic Arts as it not only dominates number 1, but also 4 other slots.  But what about hardware?  Sadly, that is only mentioned by the 360 and 3DS

Xbox 360: 270K

Nintendo 3DS: Above 213K

Both systems are hanging on with the Wii on its way out, but no sign of the PS3 or PSVita. The 360 is barely below 300K while the 3DS is catching up.  Which of the two will dominate, all with the Wii U about to launch in November?

With Pokemon due out in October, stay tuned this week for the October 2012 NPD.
